The Stone Alliance combo meet up with keyboard giant Jan Hammer right in the years before he hit big fame through Miami Vice – and at a time when his freewheeling fusion vibe was just right for the energy of the group! The lineup here is a bit different than earlier Stone Alliance records – Bob Mintzer handles the reeds, blowing soprano, tenor, bass clarinet, and flute – and Kenny Kirkland plays both keyboards and piano – while the core energy generation unit of Gene Perla on bass and Don Alias on drums really keep things moving.
