For over 20 years, The Breeze Kings have been one of the busiest and most respected bands in the Atlanta music scene. Their music - featuring complex guitar parts, explosive harmonica, and rock steady rhythms - is an exciting and authentic blend of 50's and 60's era blues styles with roots reaching out to Chicago, Memphis and the Delta region. Their performances draw in audiences of both blues purists and those new to the genre. The band has released four CD's on Atlanta's Veritone Records label, performed thousands of shows all over the Eastern USA and completed four tours of Europe. They have opened for, and played with, some of the biggest names in blues, performed live on television and radio, and their music is regularly played on local, regional, national and international blues radio and internet programs. The Breeze Kings have won Creative Loafing Magazine's prestigious Best of Atlanta award 11 times and were among the top 10 finalists at the 2005 IBC competition in Memphis TN.
Carlos "Breeze" Capote - Vocals, Harmonica.
Originally from south FL, 'Breeze' grew up musically in the Atlanta blues scene and many locals still remember his first performances ever. Since then, his talent and reputation have grown far and fast. Blues fans everywhere take notice of his exciting harp style and passionate, natural vocals. Carlos has played with other local blues icons such as Mudcat, Slim Fatz, Shelton Powe, Smokestack Lightnin', Johnny Knox, Rough Draft, the Porkbellys and many of the celebrated blues legends from the Music Maker Relief Foundation.
Jim "Taste Bud" Ransone - Guitar
Originally from VA, Jim's musical roots also started in Atlanta.
Trevor "Nature Boy" Roberts - Drums.
Trevor was born & raised in GA. He plays drums and teaches drums. He likes beer, baseball, grilling and Ric Flair.
Gregg "Tube Top" Shapiro - Bass.
Gregg is everybody's buddy, but nobody's emergency contact. He's originally from New York, but we try and excuse that. He owns four shirts. He plays squash - whatever that is.
Whether you know him as Gregg, 'Schleper', 'Tube Top', 'Thumper' or 'The Dream', the end result remains the same. You think about him a lot and you can't figure out why.
