‘Souvenirs de bon Goût’ is inspired by Kobe Desramault’s restaurant, Chambre separée.
Reinhard Vanbergen and Charlotte Caluwaerts celebrated Reinhard’s birthday by dining at Kobe’s restaurant. They where so overwhelmed by the experience of the food, the vibe and the whole atmosphere, that it literally triggered melodies and music in their head. The idea was born to make an ‘inspired by’ album. It became a concept of which a whole series of records will be made, all inspired by artists that somehow feel connected to what they do. There are already 4 more in the make.
‘Souvenirs de bon Goût’ is the first one to get a release.
Every track got the name of someone of the crew of the restaurant. As in so many art disciplines there is a big team effort involved when you look further than the first impression.
Charlotte Caluwaerts wrote the lyrics and vocal parts in French because there is no better language if it comes to food to capture the nuances and the layers.
There are different types of musicians and some people are frontman, others are perfect as second man. They need each other to really shine, and it’s only the audience and industry that puts one before the other. Reinhard considers himself as a good second man, so by choosing an other artist to get inspired by, he found a way to still work from his strength without having to claim the frontman position.
