Fascinathanatango, as the name implies, is an EP that mostly sounds like a twisted version of the more modern tango style, pioneered by Astor Piazzolla, mixed with a number of different elements, ranging from ethnic instruments and folklore-like melodic lines and up to more deranged elements of sound design and even hints of mathcore. Even though this record is mostly instrumental, there is a strong underlying concept to it, mainly exploring different faces of death and how humans relate to such a vast concept in a number of ways. We will post a more detailed explanation of the concept some time after the official release.
For now, we just want to point out that the imagery does NOT intend to respresent a standard black metal thematic of burning churches at all. The church could be replaced by any number of places that are dear and intimate to one’s own heart, and the fact that it came out as being depicted as a church is just a coincidence of following the lyrics of the song „Nimic”, which describe an old man rising and burning away with all he has left dear in life: his own sacred space of creation. By no means is this album intended to be „anti-church” or „anti-religion” or any other cliche like that, and we heavily condemn any destructive act against culture and heritage objects, regardless of their origin. All that is beautiful must be respected.
