Zhlehtet - Toyomi (2020) [Hi-Res]

( Toyomi) is an old Japanese word meaning sound/echo, and in some context big sound and people laughing together.

Zhlehtet is the latest snapshot of Rok Zalokar’s artistic vision and it is one that would be more fitting to describe as a creative process than a music collective or a solo producer project. A documentation of his work as curator and improviser in the Ljubljana music scene and in general, life as a creative individual trying to share his voice in the modern world.

Instrumental improvisations were recorded either in the studio with soloists performing under certain guidelines or as collective improvisations performed live at home concerts. Those performances were fed into analogue equipment, meticulously organized and manipulated, distorted, chopped-up and layered with further improvisations, whether events in sound design or additional musical statements."
