Earthy, intertwined, burrowing into the depths: That's what the music of Paykuna sounds like. A symbiosis between folk music of Bolivia and modern jazz aesthetics. The multi-layered arrangements Demian Cocas reflect the rhythmic variety and melodic richness of folklore, but at the same time leave all band members space for the unforeseen. The seven musicians create auditory volcanic landscapes of the Andes, Amazon rainforests and savannahs of the Gran Chaco and open the door to a new world of sound. Rarely has Bolivia sounded more exciting.
