Karima - No Filter (2021)

The disc, which arrives 6 years after the last work, collects 11 tracks: great international and timeless hits, revisited according to the musical expression of the Livorno artist, naturally explosive, made up of contaminations of musical genres such as pop and jazz. It is produced by Parco della Musica Records and Jando Music, with the artistic production of Aldo Mercurio and arrangements by Piero Frassi.

In the tracklist Karima faces them for the first time with love and respect, with a personal and authentic interpretation: "From the first meeting with my workmates we felt the need to create a new project far from my previous musical experiences, which would give me new stimuli ".

NO FILTER is a work thought and discussed at length, but at the same time absolutely spontaneous and immediate: "In two days we recorded everything", says Karima, "we chose to make a maximum of two recordings for each piece, in order to keep the best emotions that are always transmitted in the first few times ". "I was looking for a sound that identified me, and we chose to use only acoustic instruments", he continues, "excluding electronics allowed us to work a lot on the dynamics of the performances, adding the orchestra - the Piemme Project directed by Maestro Marcello Sirignano and coordinated by the first violin Prisca Amori, in some pieces ".

To conceive this new reality and for the next concerts, Karima makes use of special people for her, first of all friends, and great musicians: Gabriele Evangelista on double bass, Bernardo Guerra on drums and Piero Frassi who, with his pen and long collaboration with the artist, he managed to dress his voice with world successes giving us a surprising Walk on the Wild Side, the first track of the album and also the first single accompanied by the video clip that narrates the recording session of the album published as a preview on the Facebook page by Karima, but also songs like Tears in Heaven, Come Together and Man in the Mirror. “Piero, Gabriele and Bernardo have made a fundamental contribution to the realization with their musical depth and their elegance. Finally, we entrusted the mixes to Massimo Aluzzi, who, with his great sensitivity, gave the right balance to the work ”
The result is NO FILTER, a new journey full of emotions, to let yourself go. Without filters, in fact.

In Karima's powerful and meaningful voice, the colors of jazz, soul, blues and even gospel coexist and express themselves. Despite her young age, the artist already boasts a long and varied artistic experience, which includes participation in the Sanremo Festival in 2009 and collaboration with Burt Bacharach, who wrote songs for her and produced her first album in 2010. entitled Karima.
