Discovering a new artist who is an unexpected surprise is always a pleasure. Italian singer/songwriter Alan Scaffardi has just released his new album. If you like Simply Red, John Legend or Chris Rea chances are you will enjoy this album.
Opening track Love Has No Limits is the song John Legend never wrote. A soulful and melodic track with only piano initially to accompany Scaffardi's soulful vocal, the song opens out to expand into a beautiful love song.
The quality continues on Happy Crazy Love. It might be autumn but the sun shines in this uplifting track. With hints of fellow Italian singer Mario Biondi, the track deserves to make Scaffardi a big European artist. It also brings to mind Stevie Wonder around his mid 1970's period, basically it is timeless music.
I Lose Control could be a Chris Rea track around the time of Fool If You Think It's Over. A lilting melody carries a soulful vibe.
There are some blues based tracks too, but it is on the more soulful songs that he really comes into being. Love might have no limits as he sings but really if this album is heard by the many, then his success has no limits.
