This music is Americana, Folk, Country flavored songs. A cover version of the Lovin' Spoonful song "Butchie's Tune", an updated version of Jane Bowers' 1959 Spanish-flavored folk composition "San Miguel" and an instrumental version of John Hartford's "Presbyterian Guitar" complement the original tunes on the CD.
Bruce Muckala is a songwriter living in the US. He started playing professionally at the age of eighteen as the guitarist in a 4-piece rock & roll band, later moving on to a Chicago/Blood Sweat & Tears style group and then to smaller acoustic duos and solo guitar gigs.
He has been writing songs for most of his adult life, from Traditional Country, Country-Rock to Folk. The songs here are in the folk, country-folk and country-rock genres and also what is often referred to nowadays as Americana.
Thanks to all the fine friends and musicians who lent their wonderful talents.
Thanks to Ron Brault who did a great job mixing. Thanks to Tim Sparks for inspiration and to Chris Ames and Perry Windecker for their ideas and support.
