The youngest of five siblings born in West Philadelphia, Johnny “Flash” Ware was raised on a steady diet of soul music supplied by his mom Delores Ware who was considered the best DJ in the neighborhood. Listening to Motown and the sounds of Philly soul, Johnny developed a serious interest in music. At 16 he started singing in local talent shows and soon took to the stage with groups such as Worth The Wait, Second To None and The Fabulous Ebonys. Legendary Philly soul producer Butch Ingram recognized Johnny’s unique talent and penchant for classic soul music. Butch assembled the family band to back Johnny at the famed Society Hill Studios, picking classic material that was best suited for Johnny’s voice and the results were staggering. With the album “I Wanna Do It To You,” Philadelphia has given birth to a rising new singing star - and his name is Johnny Flash.
