Gautier Dooghe has bulimia … bulimia for music! With the violin as his weapon, he attacked a brilliant career as soloist, chamber musician and teacher. He has played as concertmaster of several major French and foreign orchestras. Originally from the North of France, Gautier Dooghe began studying the violin at the Conservatory of Lille with Yolande Leroy. He soon entered the class of Boris Garlitsky, then Jean-Jacques Kantorow at the Paris Conservatory, receiving a unanimous First Prize in 2000, as well as a first prize in chamber music in the class of Christian Ivaldi and Ami Flammer.
He then followed Jean-Jacques Kantorow to study at the Rotterdam Conservatory, and also worked with artists such as Tibor Varga in Sion, the Ysaÿe Quartet in Paris and the Wanderer Trio in La Roque d’Anthéron.
En 2003, he assumed the position of concertmaster of the Orchestre Symphonique de Douai-Région Hauts de France, and he regularly plays solo with this orchestra as well as other orchestras such as Orquesta Sinfònica National de Colombia, Ensemble de Basse-Normandie, Valentiana Orchestra, Ensemble Cordes 21 and the Lille Chamber Orchestra. He concertizes in Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Italy, Russia, Columbia, Algeria and Morocco, playing among others with Alexander Paley, Maurizio Baglini, Olaf John Laneri, Michel Dalberto, Vanessa Benelli-Mosell, Alain Raës, Silvia Chiesa, Jean-Luc Votano, and Denis Simándy.
Gautier Dooghe is part of the Johanna Trio (piano, violin and horn), and he founded with Denis Simándy an ensemble that plays in varying formations, “La Notte Bleue”.
With pianist Alain Raës, he has recorded the sonatas of Jacques de la Presle, Paul Paray et Claude Delvincourt in a CD entitled “Sonatas from the Alabaster Coast” (Sonates de la Côte d’Albâtre, Azur Classical), which received a Classica award: “This CD has given us the opportunity to discover Gautier Dooghe, a truly high-level violonist with a radiant and generous sound.” (Jacques Bonnaure).

A new CD by the Johanna Trio devoted to the chamber music of Charles Koechlin and of the Belgian composer Luc Baiwir came out in 2020, again with Azur Classical, and the complete works of Nicolas Bacri for solo violin will appear in the spring of 2021 under the same label.
Devoted to pedagogy, Gautier Dooghe has taught at the Regional Conservatory of Douai since 2014.
He plays an 18th century French violin by Jacques Bocquay and a bow by Jean-Marc Panhaleux.
