Churchill - Churchill (Reissue) (1970)

Churchill seemed to have been an obscure indie rock trio based in California. This one off was released on private label Attarack Records, a subsidiary of MGM. They had a blues rock slant with female backing singers and some funky melodies mixed throughout. There’s a nice funky fuzzed up melody on highlight ‘The Lord Must Be In New York City’. The more commercial sounding ‘Cornerstone’ starts this obscure set off. The boogie blues rocker ‘I’ll Be Doggone’ rambles on with some nice background female chorus work.~recorddigger
