Jul Dillier - solétudes (2021)

«solétudes» is a collection of solo-etudes for piano and accordion, summarised in two cycles. All pieces were performed live and acoustic, without electronic effects or overdubs.

«solétudes» is also an album about solitude, because it was recorded at home in the weeks of the first lockdown, during the corona-pandemic.

«sol-études» (from french «le sol» = soil and «étude» = study) also stands for soil-studies, fundamental research, archaeological excavation, radical reflections (from «radix» = root).

It's the search for a music of here and now. For a musical homeland, without trying to draw boundaries, rather asking the question, what homeland is or could be.
