Mimmo & Hirschmann - Le Martinet LP (2021)

After releasing three italo inspired EPs let’s switch course and slow things down a little bit. Time to take a darker path by diving deep into Le Martinet LP, a gloomy trip crafted by our fellow frenchmans Mimmo & Hirschmann.

On the right corner, Hirschmann. Hailing from Bordeaux, Ola Radio resident, tplt affiliate and Eclipse Collective boss. Reckless in his selections, he’s an enthusiast for all things leftfield : gloomy trance, lustful & downtempo EBM, psychedelic and experimental incantations.

On the left corner, Mimmo, evolving between Nantes & Rennes, label owner of ambient and industrial techno Nocturnal Frequencies, and frontrunner of darkwave & EBM inspired act Depht Mod.

Fascinated by coldwave, newbeat and post punk from the 80s era, his strong love and interest for EBM heavy energy got this far : writing his master thesis based on it, getting in touch and interviewing the Belgian masters Front 242. Pretty cool right ?

And lurking in the dark, here’s colombian producer Filmmaker. Ultra prolific and highly talented, with releases on Detriti Records, Opal Tapes and Soil, his brutal take on the title track feels like a hundred whips of burning steel raining down upon you.

Mimmo & Hirschmann never properly met and started working remotely during the first lockdown.

After sharing their respective work, exchanging visions, ideas and a great amount of emails, they quickly found a common ground, even found themselves experimenting with stuff that were new for both of them.

When they reached out to us with three of their solo and collab tracks we were instantly captivated and quickly the idea of releasing these tracks as a whole came naturally to us.

Le Martinet is an intense clash of slow and languorous grooves colliding into a spiral of raw violence.
Expect dark, anxious settings, and get lost in these melancholic & hypnotic feelings.
