As a child he took part in and won several national competitions: second place at “Pedara Piano Competition 1998”, first place at “Solarino Piano Competition 1998”, first place at “Ispica Piano Competition 1999”, first place at “Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto Piano Competition 1999”, first place at “Lentini Piano Competition 1999”, first place at “Pedara Piano Competition 1999”, first place at “Lentini Piano Competition 2000”.
When he was thirteen, he began studing jazz with pianists Marco Genovese and Alberto Alibrandi, then, in 2004, with pianist Andrea Beneventano. In 2006 he attended “Umbria Jazz” summer workshops by Berklee College and he took part in Gary Burton Special Workshop.
In 2008 he participated in the “Massimo Urbani Award” and he won Umbria Jazz 2008 scholarship, the audience prize and a CD recording. In the same year he attended “Umbria Jazz” summer workshops by Berklee College and he took part in Miroslav Vitous Special Workshop and he obtained a special mention as new talent. In the same year he won “Giuseppe Ierna Young Talent Competition” in Floridia. In December 2008, his first album “Giant Steps” (Philology) was released with Massimo Manzi on drums and Massimo Morriconi on double bass.
