Born and raised in Zimbabwe, Donel now 19-years-old, has spent the last few years honing his unique pop vision, which seamlessly blends Top 40 and R&B with the sounds he grew up listening to, like Afropop. “I’m not just a straight Afrobeats artist, I’m Afro-influenced,” he clarifies. A good portion of everyone met Donel in 2018 on The Voice where he won over the judges with his captivating voice, charming personality, and animated moves.
