Behind each work is a - sometimes secret, sometimes much too short, sometimes lifelong - liaison. Probably the most famous piece was penned by Beethoven, but perhaps in reality it is not Für Elise, but Für Therese. At the age of 40, Ludwig van falls in love with 19-year-old Therese Malfatti... Johann Sebastian Bach's Prelude and Fugue in C major is dedicated to his great love Anna Magdalena. Composers write musical poems. What happens between Johannes Brahms, a close friend and helper of the Schumann family, and Clara, whose husband Robert is seeking recovery in a sanatorium? What do Clara and Robert Schumann's and Johannes Brahms' compositions sound like?

The journey of the works goes through the centuries. György Kurtág simply calls his dedication Hommage á Kurtág Marta. Poetry Album presents compositions for piano from Takemitsu to Bach, recorded on a C. Bechstein concert flight on a weekend in autumn 2017 in the Waldhaus Grandsberg, a place created for intimate music

The Japanese pianist Masako Ohta has dedicated herself to classical and new music. She completed her piano studies at the Toho Gakuen School of Music, the Berlin University of the Arts, as well as with György Sebök, András Schiff and György Kurtag. Masako Ohta, who is intensively engaged with the poetry of sounds from Japan and Europe, has put together the musical dedications for Poetry Album together with producer Stefan Winter.
