Serving up the FUNK, is our brother Hamza Rahimtula. Yes, he is truly ‘India’s house pioneer’, and in this this collection of trax, you get to hear what quality collaboration sounds like, when he and Loopy Juice showcase 10 slabs of funk that could easily soundtrack a second summer of love.

The album takes inspiration from all over the globe, with blends of house and native Indian instruments and singing styles that come together for one monumental groove: ‘Giving It Up’ leads the way as an absolute groove powerhouse on this – it’s serious heat. Followed by a body of funk-infused deep house scattered with world music reflecting New Delhi roots. Tracks like ‘Delhi 2 Paris’ speed up into looping disco-house energy while ‘Ego Invader’ strips back into a simple drum-heavy intense number.

‘Namaste Rio’ is trippy and psychedelic. ‘Let the Music Play On’ has jazz keys and a bass-heavy groove. Finally, ‘Living It Up’, much like it’s ‘Giving It Up’ counter-part is a dancefloor smasher. The instrumental dub version hits the spot, too.

What i love about what Hamza shares with us here at Selekta, is that his body of work covers the entire spectrum of dance. Another true 'Selekta', telling us his story, sharing his vibe, putting his emotions into each groove.
