Each Parisian appearance of Muza Rubackyte is a promise of discovery of an unknown work compared to a piece from the great romantic repertoire. Here she pays tribute to the pianist and composer Leopold Godowsky on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of his birth near Vilnius. Among the four hundred piano works by her compatriot, she chose the vast Sonata in E minor dedicated to her beloved wife. Godowsky's musical language as it is revealed through this Sonata situates him in post-romanticism, quite comparable to the Scriabin of the intermediate period. A true monument of the pianistic repertoire, structured in 5 movements, its duration is around 50 minutes, Early compositions by Szymanowsky, written at the start of the 20th century, and of which he destroyed the majority, these 9 Preludes opus 1, dating from 1899-1900 and published in1906. We recognize the heritage of Chopin, combined with the harmonic metamorphoses of Tristan, and the contemporary influence of Scriabin through binary and ternary rhythmic superimpositions. Muza Rubackyté, child prodigy born in Lithuania to musicians parents, student of Master Y. Flier at the Moscow Conservatory, is the recipient of numerous prizes both in the USSR and in Europe. Committed to the restoration of her country's independence (1990), she is its ambassador throughout the world. In recital as in concerto her steps take her on the most prestigious stages of the five continents where she plays with the most famous conductors and orchestras.
