Saxophonist Eddie Manion is currently horn director/arranger for Little Steven and the Disciples of Soul playing tenor and baritone sax . Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes is where Eddie got his start in 1976 as an original member of the "Miami Horns " Eddie has provided a steady stream of big open 'Texas Tenor' R&B / Rock & Roll sounds for Bruce Springsteen, Stevie Van Zandt and Southside Johnny for more than 45 years. Little Steven like's to call him Eddie "Kingfish" Manion; Bruce Springsteen introduces him as Eddie 'Thin Man" Manion and Southside Johnny calls him "Clams". In 2012, Eddie toured with Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band completing the 3 year worldwide Wrecking Ball - High HopesTour in 2014 playing 167 shows in 27 countries to well over four million fans. Eddie has toured with Bruce Springsteen on many tours including his1988 Tunnel of Love Express Tour and his Seeger Sessions tour in 2006. Eddie entered the world of Blues,while he was a member of the Robert Cray Band in 1993. His "Roots Rock " sax sound earned him a place in the touring bands of Diana Ross in 1982 and Willie DeVille in 1991 to name a few. It has been a life of Rock n Roll, Blues and R&B.
Eddie recently released an all saxophone instrumental album titled "Nightlife" in 2015. and is currently recording a new album to be released sometime in 2020.
