Romain Guyot has chosen to couple two works, both originally dedicated Mozart's friend, and clarinetteist, Anton Stadler. He plays a modern copy by Buffet-Crampon based on an original instrument. Guyot is touring this repertoire with his favourite chamber ensemble, the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, under his direction.
“Guyot takes every Mozartian opportunity for wit and playfulness, gleefully dialoguing with himself in the finales...Papageno is already a cheeky presence.” (Gramophone)
„He plays a basset clarinet, the kind of instrument that would have been used in original performances of the works during Mozart's time. Guyot's playing is at turns mellifluous, crisp and bright, and deeply soulful. Beautiful performances of much loved favourites.“ (Classic FM)
