Steve Roach (born in 1955 in La Mesa, California) is an American composer, pioneer of ambient music. Its main direction - is abstract music without rhythm (beatless), but it also created a lot of rhythm, trance and tribal and ethnic products. Some entries consist exclusively of synthesizer music, while others include experiments with a guitar or even contain ethnic elements. The basis of his innovative sound was a large number of concerts around the world. Release their first album in 1982 launched an endless wave of releases. He was one of the first to apply the didgeridoo in ambient and learned to play it for many trips to Australia in the 80s. In the future, Roach worked with the Mexican musician Jorge Reyes (Jorge Reyes), which subsequently led to the creation of a unique style - Tribal ambient (tribal-ambient). Roach's ability to create organic, slow down time, abstraction has reached its highest point in 2003 with the release of 4-disc opus Mystic Chords & Sacred Spaces. Later he continued improvement of this style in a series of albums Immersion. Albums Possible Planet and New Life Dreaming returns the open, breathing sound that could be heard for the first time on Structures From Silence and Dreamtime Return, two orientations genre New Age and Ambient.
