Pessimist - Slaughtering the Faithful (2021)

As far as brutality goes this album hits right on the mark. It´s the sort that makes you feel like you´ve been thrown in a meat grinder and dumped back out in a pile of mashed flesh and bone. I find listening to "Slaughtering The Faithful" is an aggressive/enjoyable experience and it is by no means a bad album BUT whether it has the ability to be in constant rotation in my collection or not, sadly, I am skeptical. Unfortunately the "weakness" of it lies in the fact that if you are looking for variety, you aren´t going to find it here. The riffing and vocals are typical of most early 90´s Death Metal riffs/vox and not much groundbreaking is going on. At least they are consistent. I also expected more out of the production since Erik Rutan was behind the board but I find it´s sort of muddled together. For those who hunger for yet more "in your face", "wall of sound" brutality then by all means, try this one out.
