Mick Martin & The Blues Rockers - Good Reaction (1998)

This Sacramento based blues rock band is the real deal. A great collection of original music that covers several musical influences from Butterfield to Mayall and Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac. Mick's solid vocals and standout harmonica playing are solidly backed by one of the nastiest guitar players around, Tim Barnes. Tim, late of the great but not forgotten band Stoneground is truly one of those underrated musicans who's playing catches the listener off guard because they are not expecting the wonderful licks Tim plays. The bottom is more than filled by Steve Schofer on bass and Jerry Banks on drums. The real driving force behind The Bluesrockers is Mick Martin, an accomplished song writer and above all, truly one of the finest blues harp players on todays scene. (By richard leathers)
