The interpretations do full justice to this splendid music. The ensemble produces a very beautiful sound, and I very much like its relaxed way of playing. If you don't know Muffat's music, this is your chance to get to know it. The H.B.S. delivers an eloquent and passionate plea for this splendid repertoire.

The group fully captures the grave beauty of this composer's writing the mix of 12 strings with low-key chamber organ, harpsichord and bass lute woven across the audio spectrum like a tapestry of warmth. Allied to that sound, Holland Baroque's dynamic subtlety and euphonious tuning make this a hypnotic album, one to set on repeat.
