5. Here Now (06:36)
'Here Now' is a project built from unraveling work from the past, and deconstructing ideas to unrecognizable forms. Manipulating found sounds and film samples to create settings and spaces that feel somewhat natural, and then breaking apart familiar guitar melodies and samples all to create a sometimes close but disjointed appeal. Influences from horror films and literature swayed the projects focus into the importance of nuance and the effectiveness with minimalism when creating sound ideas. Samples and guitars become the architecture of the tracks but exterior sound sources shift the focus and attempt to pull you out of the hypnotic looping.
There is a familiarity with the sound, but an attempt to attach a dissociation by letting room noise bleed through, the sound of the winds and birds, or the creak of a door closing slightly, all to help build a foundation that at any time can feel all too fragile.
