Argentinean-German composer Mauricio Kagel (1931-2008) attained international renown with his ‘instrumental theatre’ approach ever since the 1960’s, a period when the concept of musical material was being expanded to include all kinds of instrumental and vocal performance techniques.
Gergana Gergova (violin), Thomas Kaufmann (cello) and Pavlin Nechev (piano) form a line-up in which the trio has been playing since 2008. With their many years of concert stage experience, these three virtuosos have now brought those same qualities into the recording studio for their striking début CD.
