Susanna Aleksandra - The Siren (2021)

Singer-composer Susanna Alexandra and pianist Joonas
Haavisto began their collaboration in 2018. These
two musicians have a shared vision to create music
where multilayered harmonies, meaningful lyrics and
strong melodies come together. For them it is
important to let the music dictate which direction
to go to; occasionally the path is simple and
sometimes more complex.

In the quartet's music, the influences of
traditional jazz, classical music, pop and folk come
together under the umbrella that is modern jazz. The
quartet's album Souls of the Night was released in
Japan in March 2020, and will see daylight in Europe
at the beginning of 2021.

Estonian singer Susanna Alexandra has done her
Bachelor in Jazz Performance in the Sibelius Academy
in Finland. Currently she is finishing her graduate
studies at the Sibelius Academy with professor
Jukkis Uotila and Doctor Aija Puurtinen and at the
USC Thornton School of Music with the two-time
Grammy nominated jazz vocalist Sara Gazarek.
