Bee Gees - The Festival Albums Collection 1965-67 (3 CD's Box Set) (2013)

In the eve of Barry Gibb's first ever solo Australian tour, Festival Records and Warner Music Australia are proud to present two brand new releases that chronicle the Bee Gees' early recording days in Australia. For fans who want more than the single CD Morning of My Life - The Best of / 1965-66 (Note that that compilation includes 8 tracks not included in this collection - see elsewhere for details), the 3CD set The Festival Albums Collection -1965-67 contains the three LPs originally released by Festival in the '60s; three LP's that were never released elsewhere, and that have never before been released on CD. Let us explain. The brothers' international debut album Bee Gees 1st was a misnomer - it was actually their third. They'd released two earlier albums in Australia - The Bee Gees Sing & Play 14 Barry Gibb Songs and Spicks and Specks - and a third Festival album Turn Around Look At Us was released down under as their international career took off. Whilst the material on these albums has been released elsewhere, the albums themselves have never before been reissued. The 3CD box set The Festival Albums Collection 1965-67 finally rectifies that situation. It contains individual replica editions of the three LP's - each lovingly remastered from original analog tapes - packaged in a nicely designed box with an eight page booklet featuring liner notes by Glenn A Baker.
