Eyal Sela - Sela (2001)

Upon graduating from The Music Academy in Jerusalem, Sela evolved from classical music and jazz into ethnic music, specializing in unique woodwind instruments of this genre.

Sela plays in a variety of classic and ethnic woodwinds including: Classical Clarinet, Turkish Clarinet, Silver Flute, Indian Bamboo Flute, Turkish Zorna, Armanian Duduk, African Flute, Saxophone, Irish Penny Whislte, Middle Eastern Ney Flute.

In recent years, Sela has performed and recorded with some of the best international artists including Omar Faruk Tekbilek (Turkey), Ross Daily (Greece), Adel Salameh (France) and the leading international Jewish singer, Avraham Fried (USA). He has also performed with some of the leading Israeli musicians and singers such as Idan Raichel (The Idan Raichel Project), Rita, Etti Ankri, Yair Dalal, Shem Tov Levy, Din Din Aviv. Sela was the writer, composer and musical director of the soundtrack of Avi Nesher‘s film The Secrets and was the musical director of the great Indian musical show Bharati. Among his performances, Sela performed with Yair Dalal at the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony and concert in Oslo in 1996.He has released 3 albums: Sela (1995), Dharma (1999), Call of the Mountain (2004). Among his activities Sela has offered master classes at the Music Academy in Jerusalem along with other reputable music institutions and universities across the world. He has presented on the subjects of Turkish, Indian and Balkan music, and was a part of the musical masters staff in the Ethnic Music Center in Safed. He was a lecturer and the Academy of Music in Jerusalem, lecturing on 'The introduction to Turkish, Balkan and Indian Music.' He was also a staff member at the Sefad Collage for the study of Jewish and Ethnical music.
