The Carloways - Resuscitator (2021)

Resuscitator’ is the debut album by Scottish Americana band The Carloways. It was recorded at Glasgow’s 45 A-side Recordings with renowned producer Paul McInally (Florence and The Machine, The Lapelle ) at the helm.

An album about the ups and downs of youth, romance and conflicting morals, this is an honest collection of vulnerable songs that lie somewhere between ‘feel-good’ and understated melancholy. Written by frontman Mikey Maclennan, the record is driven by Harmonica, soaring Pedal Steel, Banjo, jangly guitars and rich harmonies. The Carloways were formed in high school by childhood friends and this album is the culmination of years of countless shows across the gig and festival scene of Scotland.

Taking influence from both sides of the atlantic (Roddy Frame, Ryan Adams, Teenage Fanclub, Justin Townes Earle, The Pogues) ‘Resuscitator’ is a Celtic Americana record. American-style songs from a Scottish perspective.
