Passion - Don't Stop My Love (1992)

Passion was a studio Disco project that released only one album called “Don’t Stop My Love” in 1980 and it’s an undiscovered masterpiece. Released less then a year after the infamous 1979 Disco crash, “Don’t Stop My Love” consists of six perfectly crafted infectious dance grooves, five of which are perfectly suited for the Dance floor. This is a solid, well rounded album that, if taken as a whole, perfectly blends lush orchestral Dance grooves with more then a nod to the sound of Salsoul records. The songs are a great blend of Euro Disco and some New York funky romance thrown into the mix. Shades of Cerrone and Don Ray can also be heard across the entire project. The album is pure Dance music magic. Sexy pulsating title track, catchy and infectious “Dancing and Romancing”, along with the gorgeous “In New York”, are all Disco perfection and deservedly became successful club, Dance and Pop hits that received their fair share of Club and Radio play. “Don’t Bring Back Memories” is another dance gem with a killer bass, while “You Can’t Hide It” follows in similar musical territory but is sexier and sounds more like what Dance music blended into as the early 80’s grooves became more urban soul sounding as opposed to Disco proper. “Midnight Lovers” slows down the pace and is a stunning R&B ballad that should have became a Quiet Storm format classic.
