Singer and songwriter Tucker Beathard has won an audience for his rowdy but heartfelt stories of Southern life, informed by rock, pop, and hip-hop as much as contemporary country. A native of Nashville, Beathard was raised in a musical family, playing guitar and drums in a band with his brothers by the age of ten. The son of country songwriter Casey Beathard, Tucker's own rebellious teenage years were the inspiration for his father's song "Homeboy," which was a number one country hit for Eric Church in 2011. Forgoing a baseball scholarship after he was sidelined by a shoulder injury, Tucker decided to pursue his own career as a songwriter. His rock and country mix was first heard on the self-released 2015 EP The Demos, Vol. 1 and subsequent single "Rock On." After the EP earned attention with both country fans and the press, Beathard signed a publishing deal with Big Machine and a recording contract with its DOT Records affiliate. The re-released "Rock On" single became a Top Ten country hit, and in October 2016, it appeared on his first DOT release, a six-song EP called Fight Like Hell.
