Francesco Miniaci - Solo Monk (2021)

Produced by Dodicilune distributed in Italy and abroad by IRD and in the best online stores by Believe Digital, "Solo Monk" by Calabrian pianist Francesco Miniaci is released on Tuesday 2 February. The project is conceived as a moment of deepening and reflection on art, but also on the human aspects, of a unique character such as Thelonious Monk. The arrangements of the eight songs (Ask Me Now, I Mean You, In Walked Bud, Pannonica, Monk's Dream, Round Midnight, Ruby My Dear and Well You Need't) designed specifically for solo piano, offer a personal vision of Maniaci della original music of the American musician and composer (10 October 1917 - 17 February 1982).

Graduated in piano at the Fausto Torrefranca Conservatory of Vibo Valentia in 2008, Francesco Miniaci graduated in 2020 in Jazz Piano at the P.I.Tchaikosky Conservatory of Music in Nocera Terinese (Cz). He has to his credit about 100 concerts in Italy and abroad and is a permanent pianist of the TJO of the Tchaikovsky Conservatory of Nocera Terinese. He has participated in numerous workshops held, among others, by Kenny Barron, John Hicks, Roscoe Mitchell, Uri Caine, Jerry Bergonzi, Bob Mintzer, George Cables, Francesco Cafiso. He has played and collaborated with musicians of the national jazz scene such as Piero Cusato, Toni Armetta, Stefano Di Battista, Fabrizio Bosso, Daniele Scannapieco, Francesco Cafiso and many others.
