Born and bred in London, Anjunabeats started life as a university project in the year 2000. Today, Anjunabeats is one of the world’s best-loved dance labels. Over 700 releases spanning two decades wear the iconic Anjuna ‘A’.
To celebrate, they’ve opened the vault for a handpicked group of artists from the label’s 20-year history. Each artist will sift through thousands of hours of music to create a definitive, mix of their all-time favourite Anjunabeats releases.
On 4th February, Gabriel & Dresden deliver the seventeenth mix in the series.
“We love Gabriel & Dresden. Their music inspired us and their remixes changed our map. Their first album was a masterpiece of bleeding-heart indie-electro that pulsed with the rarest thing in our scene: a clear and compelling personality. We all played the hell out of their tracks.
Then they just stopped. Every time we saw them we’d beg them to do another album. There were always obstacles.
When we heard about their 2016 Kickstarter campaign, we immediately sent money and followed their progress like the fans we are. We signed them to Anjunabeats.
Their phenomenal second Anjunabeats album, ‘Remedy’, was released just as the world entered lockdown. While many (quite rightly) bemoaned the unfairness of it all, Dave and Josh went to work doing what they do best: connecting people. The supportive, optimistic and diverse community they have built around Club Quarantine on Twitch is, perhaps, their greatest work to date.”

“When Anjuna came to us over a year ago with the idea of many of their artists doing compilations of their favorite Anjuna tracks, we thought to ourselves “how do you even do that?!” Anjunabeats and Anjunadeep have delivered so many great records and artists over these past two decades, the task set forth to us was a daunting one.
In the end, what we did was chose a starting point and then built the set upon that. This compilation definitely doesn’t contain ALL of our favorite Anjuna tracks, but we hope that you will enjoy what we were able to get into the mix nonetheless. We are very thankful for all the love and support that Tony, Jono, Paavo and the entire team have given us over the years and can’t wait for the next 20 to unfold. We know that it will be filled with amazing, emotional dance music. And for that we are excited.”
