Akkad the Orphic Priest & zakè (扎克) - Color Language (2021)

'Color Language' is the first collaborative effort between zakè and Akkad the Orphic Priest.

There are few things in art that are more more important (or subjective) than the use of color. Color changes moods and creates atmosphere. Colors can sit next to one another in complete harmony or stand out in opposition to one another causing a sense of friction. Colors can be the hue itself or it can be a word that mentally triggers an image of the color in our minds.

'Color Language' is a celebration of these ideas through the use of sound. Gold is both a color and an element. It is both a description of the object and the object itself. Opal is at once a mineral yet it evokes an image of many colors working together in tandem.

Colors can effect emotional states. A color that cultivates joy in one person may be depressing or melancholic to another. The language of color is vast. Its beauty and mystery will be celebrated forever.

Upon listening to the music of 'Color Language', hopefully it reveals the truth that both color and sound are deeply connected. We can evoke mental celebrations of the spectrum by simply listening to certain compositions. We let them take us away into a world of our own creation.
