Interactive DIY singer/songwriter/storyteller Marc With a C (the stage persona of Orlando's Marc Sirdoreus) spent 2020 celebrating his 20th Anniversary from lockdown... but is most excited to announce that he has a brand new album experience: a 66-minute audio parfait meant for continuous listening called low fidelity (or "how i spent the nervous breakdown"), his first full records of new original material since 2018, but? He doesn't want to explain it. Luckily, Marc allowed ten longtime listeners to experience the headphone landscape, and we can share some of their impressions with you:
"This makes me feel good, like really good... Like the best neighborhood garage band ever. Wow, he gets it, like really gets it." - Siera Berg
"The direction this goes in, feels very necessary in the time we live in... there was a story I couldn’t quite piece together... the ending of this leaves nothing more to be wanted." - Ashley Thompson
"There's a touch of Zappaesque album continuity, with callbacks to two of my favorite albums, all of it building to a sense of scale that's much larger than I expected... a journey through a person's soul through vis a vis his record collection." - Michael Domangue
"I rarely jump up and down and clap my hands like a giddy school child at the sound of a riff... please don't let it be Marc's swan song. This is... not a collection of songs." - Nicholas Cottrell
"Kind of a puzzle in terms of trying to figure out what things were about versus what *I* was making them about from my own perspective." - Kbow
"...akin to a 12-step musical therapy program in dealing with the various ranges of emotions one might have when stressed... a chance to take a breather before continuing the path toward reconciliation and self-healing; ...where one can finally rest and enjoy life again." - Claude P Perry II
" I can’t say that I particularly enjoyed the beginning... The conclusion left me feeling hopeful that there can be release from madness... it became downright soothing." - Jaime Dent
"...the album was much more real after the initial digestion of its tracks... a much more mature and self-aware artist who is not just here to make dick jokes to make the audience laugh... we are getting to see more of the real Marc and not just the stage persona." - Amanda Alexander
"The mix of absolute wall of sound at points and the more simple guitar and drum songs gave the album the feel of a journey." - Charles Bowman
"A stream of conscious rollercoaster... an other-worldly mix with Casio loops done right... I've never heard such passion in Marc's lyrics and performance. I don't want to say this is the album I've been waiting for - this is the album I knew Marc had in him." - Tim Labonte
low fidelity will be released on double gatefold unbanded vinyl, compact disc, and for digital streaming. Pre-order for the physical components begin on roughly 11/23/20 at https://marcwithac.bandcamp.com/album/low-fidelity-or-how-i-spent-the-nervous-breakdown with those orders being shipped relatively promptly. General digital release will be 1/15/21, with a corresponding virtual record release party the following day unlike anything Marc has ever done in performance, with no digital copies allowed to circulate before general release, in hopes that you'll take it in all at once. For those who prefer a preview, a single edit/remix of portions have been released as "Turbofucked (Single Mix)" on most streaming platforms, though the track does not appear on the record in this form, and really? You'll have a much better time if you go in blind.
