Bob Dylan's 'True Confessions' tour with Tom Petty began on February 5, 1986 in Wellington, New Zealand. The rehearsals were instead carried out in December 1985 at Soundstage 41 of Universal Studios in Hollywood, a stage and film set that here is the backdrop to a series of performances that are decidedly out of the ordinary. Accompanied by the Heartbreakers and the vocal group of Queens Of Rhythm, the two leaders took advantage of the informal context to have fun with material rarely heard and performed live: this is testified by this double CD of over two hours in which an amused Dylan catches less usual pieces of his repertoire alongside the standards of Tin Pan Alley and classic American song, covers by contemporary authors and country pieces. Here then, among many others, 'That Lucky Old Sun', Merle Haggard's' Sing Me Back Home ', Bill Monroe's' Rocky Road Blues', Drifters'' Save The Last Dance For Me 'and even two takes of 'Come Together' by The Beatles
