Josep Lluís Galiana - Electroacoustic Pieces 1999-2019 (2019)

Electroacoustic Pieces 1999 - 2019 is a new record project by the Valencian composer, saxophonist and improviser Josep Lluís Galiana, which has an extensive catalog of around fifty recordings. An artist with a proven musical career and an international reference in the field of free musical improvisation and electroacoustic creation, he is also a leading writer, publisher and record producer on the European scene. Head of the record label Liquen Records and EdictOràlia Llibres i Publicacions, he is “an exemplary entrepreneur, a kind of Renaissance man, in an artistic field that is not at all easy, such as experimental music, free improvisation and sound art ”.

Electroacoustic Pieces 1999 - 2019 is a monographic album that includes 11 works by Josep Lluís Galiana composed over the last twenty years. From Oil Sonorities, a commissioned work premiered at Espacio El Tanque (Tenerife, Canary Islands) in 1999, to the most recent pieces such as N-on-O (2015), em-mor [das] sax (2016) or Recurrences (2019), this album includes a series of essential works to understand not only the musical aesthetics of this creator, but also to understand his artistic evolution.

In Galiana's electronic and acoustic compositions, we can find sound constants, defined aesthetic lines and a very characteristic way of doing things. The human voice and its most everyday use: the conversation, and its inseparable soprano, alto, tenor and baritone saxophones, present in almost all his works, but also an unmistakable conception of pulsation and rhythm, reveal a sonorous poetics. own well rooted in its historical and artistic time.
