“Verschollene Märchen” immerses in a visually powerful fairy tale world. This approximately one-hour work is all about words and music. Sounds from the romantic to the modern are woven into and around the stories that Johann Wilhelm Wolf has collected from the Brothers Grimm. This creates a very special kind of "listening experience".
The five pieces newly composed by Luigi Laveglia alternate with unexpected arrangements of well-known works by Samuel Barber, Edvard Grieg, Robert Schumann and Pjotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. The special thing about it: The 13 pieces are linked in form and content in such a way that a seamless dramaturgy is created.
The fairy tales exude a mysterious magic and, in combination with the pieces, develop an engaging pull. "Lost fairy tales" is more than a radio play, more than a concert, more than an event. “Lost fairy tales” is reminiscent of dream worlds in which reality dissolves.
In 2019, "Verschollene Märchen" was commissioned by Luigi Laveglia in collaboration with the Sinfonietta Lucerne for various solo ensembles of the chamber orchestra to be premiered with great success.
