Kasia Pietrzko Trio - Ephemeral Pleasures (2020)

The album features an excellent trio that contributed to the success of "Forthright Stories", and which apart from Kasia Pietrzko on the piano are composed of Andrzej Święs on double bass and Piotr Budniak on drums. The concept of the album and the arrangements are the work of Kasia Pietrzko, who also produced the album recorded at Monochrom Studio in November 2019.

On "Ephemeral Pleasures" we will hear music composed by Pietrzko, and one song, "Quasimodo", was written by Andrzej Święs. Kasia Pietrzko tells stories with her music, with a great sense of melody, which is very important to her. From the joyful "Ephemeral Pleasures", through the lyrical "Dearest John", dedicated to his grandfather, to "For TS", where we can find a reference to Tomasz Stańko, Pietrzko has constructed an album with songs intertwined with shorter, improvised and numbered "Episodes" played in trio or solo. This formula emphasizes the spirit of cooperation and the strong energy that you feel in the band that has been playing together for three years, and also allows each of the instrumentalists to present themselves and add their voice to the story - just as they would if they were playing live.
