"Footprints on the Ceiling" album by Mississippi Heat was released Sep 17, 2002 on the Crosscut label.
This is the fifth album from powerhouse blues group Mississippi Heat, led by harp blaster Pierre Lacocque.
The band recorded this material in Chicago at Tone Zone in June of 2001 and proved they could do in the studio what they do on stage. The CD features special guests Billy Boy Arnold, Carl Weathersby, Peter "Madcat" Ruth, Phil Baron, Pat Brennan and Michael Freeman.
As with Mississippi Heat's previous releases, you don’t have to be a harmonica player to appreciate this album. This is good listening music with enough varied texture and creative energy to keep the experience of listening to this CD fresh each time you listen to it. Of course, much of the credit for the success of the band, and this album in particular, goes to harp player Pierre Lacocque who takes advantage of nuances of the harp that most players haven’t even thought about. … Pierre Lacocque has a way with the harp, giving it the right emphasis. Not too much, not too little, just right. And the Mississippi Heat does the rest.”
