Jakoby - Arc (2020)

Following on from 2016’s ‘Habits’, UK Born, Berlin-based artist ‘JAKOBY’ returns to Health with Arc, a collection of 11 improvisations and generative pieces, crafted through his experimentation with FM synthesis, waveshaping, and collage during the Winter of 2017.

Arc is a palace of charming moods that balance warming, fuzzy grooves against cyclic, probing shadow movement. The tracks maintain a light-hearted looseness within an elegantly minimal framework, embodied by broad, unyielding synthesis interlaced with simplistic percussion and intoxicating clouds of analog noise. The collection finds an ethereal suspension state between angelic beauty and swirling underworlds, an emotional interplay of hard and soft, light and heavy, centred and dispersed, that generates an atmosphere of volatility, pinned by a single point; dense, magnetic and vibrating with life energy.
