Singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, actor, and producer Richard Marx made his name as a contemporary pop/rock superstar in the late 1980s and early '90s, issuing a string of consecutive platinum albums. A gifted balladeer who could also rock, Marx soared to the top of the pop charts with the singles "Should've Known Better" and "Right Here Waiting." He took home a Song of the Year Grammy Award in 2004 for "Dance with My Father," a track he co-wrote with and for Luther Vandross. Since then he has continued to record, collaborate, act, produce, and perform, issuing his 12th album, Limitless, in 2020. Since debuting in 1987 with his eponymous first outing, Marx has sold over 30 million albums worldwide.
