Born in La Plata in 1994, Milena Salamanca is an Argentine folk music singer and dancer. Her father Luis Salamanca was a musician, and the founder of an Andean music folk association, and Milena grew up surrounded by folclore, music, and culture. As a teenager, she took dancing and singing lessons. In 2012 she won the best new artist award at the Festival de Cosquín, the most important folclore event in Argentina. Salamanca returned to Cosquín every year, performed around the country, and even toured briefly in Latin America. Her debut solo album, K'arallanta, arrived in 2016.
