British dance music stalwart Hot Since 82 has unveiled his long awaited third studio album Recovery, out 27th November on his own Knee Deep in Sound label.
A deeply personal record, Recovery is a sonic reflection on the period following the suicide of one of the Yorkshireman’s close friends, as well as the tumultuous situation currently faced by the world. The 13-track release is also characterised by a long list of star-studded collaborators, including UK musical icon Boy George and Paradise label head Jamie Jones on Hot Since 82’s latest single ‘Body Control’, a devastating combination of deep basslines and George’s iconic vocals. Further singles come in the form of ‘Be Strong’, a grooving tech number in collaboration with Grammy winners Rudimental, and the punchy kick drums of ‘Eye Of The
Storm’ featuring London singer-songwriter Liz Cass, tracks that have racked up 1 million and 500,000 streams respectively.
Further highlights come in the form of LP opener ‘Nightfall’, an emotion-tinged dance cut featuring the indie vocals of Temple, who also appears on the similarly melodic closing track ‘Black & White’, techno legend Miss Kittin helps channel 80s synth vibes on ‘Naboo’ and West Country singer-songwriter Ed Graves lends his soothing vocals to the fluttering electronica of ‘Sinnerman’.
One of the most revered artists in underground dance music, Hot Since 82 is a regular at many of Ibiza’s finest clubs, as well as running the highly influential Knee Deep In Sound imprint. Recovery follows 2019’s acclaimed ‘8-track’ LP, which he described as “a deeply personal record that reflected a challenging time in his life”, and has amassed over 30 million worldwide streams to date.
A stunning collection of tracks with emotion and poignance at their heart, Recovery is Hot Since 82’s most accomplished work to dat
