Julie Roué is a multifaceted musician. She plays the piano, the guitar and other instruments, but her favorite instrument is the voice. Her musical language uses elements of classical music, jazz, electro, world music and minimalism, with a strong influence of pop music.
She composed the score of more than 40 short films and documentaries and signed her first original score for a long feature film in 2017 for Jeune Femme (Montparnasse Bienvenüe), that was awarded the Caméra d'or at Cannes Film Festival. Her latest film scores include Perdrix (The Bare Necessity) by Erwan Le Duc (Directors Fortnight at Cannes Film Festival 2019), the VR Storyscape The Key by Celine Tricart (Best Immersive Media Award at Tribeca Film Festival 2019) and the TV series HP (Mental) by Emilie Noblet.
Besides her music for films, Julie Roué released her first electro pop solo album About Luke in February 2019.
She is also one half of the electroclash band Carte Contact that sang the main title Like a dog for Jeune Femme and released their debut EP "HA HA" in April 2019.
