Widely recognized as one of the greatest, major a cappella choral works of all time, Rachmaninov’s All-Night Vigil, Op. 37, popularly known as the “Vespers,” is a Santa Fe Desert Chorale staple. Conducted by Artistic Director Joshua Habermann, this work was performed in its entirety by 32 Desert Chorale artists during our 34th Annual Summer Festival in 2016. An homage to the Russian masterpiece, this CD draws on two performances recorded live by Kabby Sound Studios at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi in Santa Fe, NM on August 13, 2016 and at the Cathedral of St. John in Albuquerque, NM on August 14, 2016. Generous gifts from Greg Dove and Catherine & Guy Gronquist made the creation of this CD possible.
