Makala - Arima Soul EP (2020)

We have a new Soul music project created by Lidia Insausti (vocals) and Mikel Makala (bass), later added by Paul San Martin (keyboards) and Hilario Rodeiro (drums). With the clear influence of the 70s Rhythm & Blues, Soul, Funk, Groove and Jazz bands, but also looking at the most contemporary current of these styles, this is called Neo-Soul. In addition to performing their own songs sung in Basque, they perform versions of various indicators of style: Bill Withers, Etta James, Curtis Mayfield, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Marie “Queenie” Lyons,… In the summer of 2020 they recorded an EP of 5 original songs in Fredi Pelaez's Potto studio .
