Following a recent performance by Hall of Famer, Tim Allan, a New York music critic, well known for his less than kind critiques, turned the tables and flatly stated: " I know of no musician today who possesses a broader repertoire or who uses his musical knowledge to better advantage. From classics to country, Tim Allan's work is extraordinary."
With a natural proficiency on guitar, banjo, mandolin, and ukulele, along with his smooth baritone vocals in a seemingly inexhaustible supply of popular standards, Tim has enjoyed engagements on television, cruise ships, at top hotels and in concert venues around the world.
Twice North American Banjo Champion, Tim found himself performing for 14 years on television's popular "Tommy Hunter Show", appearing weekly with such headliners as Glen Campbell, Reba McEntire, Pat Boone and Shania Twain.
Special highlights in Tim's career came in 2002 when he was honored by being inducted into the American Banjo Hall Of Fame in the category of "Performance" and once again in 2015 in the category of "Instruction & Education".
Aside from musical celebrities, Tim’s musical work has introduced him to movie stars such as Jessica Alba and Mike Meyers in the film “The Love Guru”, where Tim was an on-set banjo and guitar coach. He also appeared playing guitar in the movie “Palais Royale” with Kim Catrall, and met Clint Eastwood when performing at Eastwood’s “Mission Ranch” in Carmel, California. Tim has also entertained several dignitaries, including Canada’s former Prime Minister, Pierre Trudeau, and Canadian Attorney General, Robert Kaplan.
As a regular contributing editor to the F.I.G.A. ( Fretted Instrument Guild of America) magazine, and the Resonator magazine, Tim is well known in the banjo community and has sold his many recordings and instruction books worldwide. He continues to teach banjo, guitar and mandolin , and provides educational workshops for guitar and banjo in Europe and North America.
From concerts to cruises, from clubs to conventions, the music of Tim Allan will appeal to any audience.
